A new museum at Fort Belvoir, Virginia will be dedicated to telling the story of the U.S. Army -- and officials want to make sure the stories of Army brats are included.
The planned exhibit, called "Growing Up Army" is aimed at detailing the lives of Army families "through personal stories, photos, videos, and an interactive game," according to a news release.
But to get those photos, videos and stories the museum needs your help. Yes, you.
That's because if you're an Army family, you have the materials the museum needs to complete the project.
Organizers are looking for Army brat stories from the past and the present. That means if you were raised in a Army family, your own story could be a part of the exhibit, too. And if you're raising Army kids, their stories are also important.
The museum is looking for submissions to be entered before a Dec. 31, 2017 deadline. Any child of a soldier, including active duty Army, Army Guard or Army Reserve, is eligible to enter.
Users can submit information by visiting the museum's website, clicking "submit your story" and filling out the form.
The museum is slated to open in late 2019 and is expected to attract about 700,000 visitors each year.
